Sandicliffe Motor Contracts’ Open Day 2016

About Sandicliffe Motor Contracts, Events

SMC Open Day

The 14th April marked Sandicliffe Motor Contracts’ first ever Open Day, celebrating the official unveiling of our newly extended offices. We were delighted that so many of our customers and friends in the industry took the time to visit us at our Long Eaton headquarters.

The feedback we have had so far has been nothing but positive and we all feel that the day was a great success.

We pride ourselves on being able to bring a personal touch to the fleet business and this was a wonderful opportunity for over 100 visitors to interact and meet all of our staff.

Luckily for us, the weather held out which made our open day even more enjoyable as our guests were able to enjoy our outside attractions. While it didn’t quite feel like summer, being served coffee by barista from a vintage VW Camper pop-up café and indulgent ice creams from an authentic seaside tricycle ice cream cart provided a little holiday flavour to the proceedings

The idea was to give guests an ‘all-areas-pass’ to our various departments, allowing a look at what goes on behind the scenes and meeting face to face the people that they spend so much time e-mailing or speaking to on the phone and strengthening their relationships, because we all like to know who we’re dealing with.

“One of the things that sets us apart is our staff’s focus on a customer-first approach, which is why it is so important for us to host these kinds of events”, said Gary Benfield, Managing Director. “This is just one of our ways of saying thank you to our customers and suppliers.”

Guests were treated to an extensive selection of refreshments throughout the day and in one of the first floor offices was the hugely popular ‘giant Scalextric’. This was a scaled down replica of Silverstone on which guests were invited to race against each other in a seven-lap race. The winner being rewarded in time-honoured tradition with a bottle of fizz. Although they were encouraged not to spray it over the other competitors on this occasion.

Over in our ‘showroom’ was a static display of cars from a wide historical spectrum including; Ford Fiesta XR2 from the 80’s, a Mazda MX5 from the 90’s, a Ford GT from the noughties and a group of up to the minute sports cars in the form of a new Ford Mustang, an Audi R8 and BMW i8. However, despite all that horsepower, the most endearing was the 1911 Ford Model T which at 115 years old has aged remarkably well. Kwik-Fit was also on hand to carry out vehicle health checks for our guests.

We would like to thank all of our guests and everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us. Many of you had to travel a fair distance to get here and we hope that you all enjoyed the day as much as we did and hopefully, we’ll be seeing you again at the next one!
