Frimstone make ground breaking advances as they move from outright purchase to contract hire

Case Studies, Contract Hire

Our fellow Royal Warrant Holders, Frimstone, make way for their shiny new fleet of Citroen Nemo vans while making the switch to contract hire.

Based in East Anglia, this family run business specialises in mineral extraction, recycling and aggregates delivery. With over 70 years of experience under their belt, Frimstone is one of the largest independent firms in the regional.

Originally trading as M Dickerson Ltd, Frimstone was founded back in the 1930’s operating government contracts to transport materials for airport construction. Since then the company has continued to grow into the company we know today.

Discussions between Frimstone and Sandicliffe Motor Contracts about the benefits of Contract Hire over outright purchase began back in 2010. As a result, Frimstone tested the water with an order for a number of Ford Focus cars and VW caddy Vans.

It was after another few years and an extensive review process that contract hire was chosen as the best solution for Frimstone to replace the remainder of their cars and the light commercial vehicles that comprise the bulk of their fleet. The newer, more fuel efficient Citroen Nemo vans will help to reduce the fleet’s overall running costs and the 4×4 capabilities of the Toyota Hilux will make manoeuvring over the tricky East Anglian terrain that little bit more manageable.

“After review, it seemed clear that contract hire does in fact make business sense as we could expect to see savings of up to £100,000 per annum. Over the years, we have built up a strong relationship with Sandicliffe Motor Contracts and they definitely are the right supplier for us”, explained Mark Swan, Company Director of Frimstone Ltd.

“Corporate branding is something we feel strongly about and the Frimstone livery on the vans reflects this. Our brand is now instantly recognisable when our vehicles are out on the roads. It is also important for us to show our employees some appreciation by providing them with a brand new vehicle”.

The latest vehicle deliveries commenced at the start of March 2016. Account Manager, David Casserley was present to oversee the exchange.

“It’s great to see the process through to completion, especially as I have been so closely involved from day one. An excellent job has been done on the design and execution of the van’s livery. It really helps to reinforce Frimstone’s identity.” Said David.

With a fresh, fully branded fleet Frimstone looks forward to enjoying the benefits of contract hire and will hopefully continue to build on the already strong relationship with Sandicliffe Motor Contracts.
