Advisory Fuel Rates from 1st September 2019

HMRC has released the latest advisory fuel rates (AFRs), which will come into force from September 1st 2019.

Diesel

Diesel company cars with an engine of 1,400cc or less will remain the same as the previous rate and diesel cars with engines of above 2,000cc will also go unchanged from previous rates.

The AFR for diesel cars with engine sizes from 1,601cc to 2,000cc will decrease by 1p per mile (ppm), from 12ppm to 11ppm.

Hybrid-diesel vehicles are treated as diesel cars for this purpose.

Petrol

AFR for a petrol company cars with an engine of 1,400cc or less stays the same at 12ppm, however, cars with engine sizes over 1,400cc to 2,000cc and over 2,000cc will fall by 1ppm to 14ppm and 21ppm, respectively.

Hybrid-Petrol vehicles are treated as petrol cars for this purpose.

LPG

LPG vehicles with an engine of 1,400cc or less will remain the same as previously set (8ppm), but for LPG vehicles with engine sizes of 1,401-2,000cc, the rate increases from 9ppm to 10ppm. LPG vehicles with engines above 2,000cc will remain at the previous rate of 14ppm.

Electric

AER for plug-in electric cars remains unchanged at 4ppm. Please note, Electricity is not a fuel for car fuel benefit purposed.
