Tour De Sandicliffe - MC

Back in May, employees from Sandicliffe Motor Group, including two from Sandicliffe Motor Contracts, took part in a 96-mile bike ride to raise money for Nottingham Hospitals and Cystic Fibrosis Care.

The Tour De Sandicliffe took our riders on a 96 round mile bike trip visiting all 13 of our dealerships and offices. The ride was split into five stages starting at our Ford Loughborough site. From here the group rode up to Sandicliffe Motor Contracts for a quick picture outside our offices and then on to the newly built Nissan dealership off the A52. Then it was back on the bikes over to Stapleford then all the way up to Hucknall.

After a short rest, the guys made the journey down to Trent bridge Ford and then over to West Bridgford. Now well over half way through, the team biked south to Melton Mowbray before heading west to our three dealerships in Leicester. The final stretch of the trip took them all the way up from Skoda in Leicester back to Loughborough to complete the 96-mile round trip.

Overall, 20 riders took part including our very own Paul Dibden and Jay Chohan. Sponsorship from all 13 sites totalled £5,811 which would be split between the two chosen charities.

About the Charities

Nottingham Hospitals Charity helps support local hospitals by investing 100% of its donations in better medical infrastructure, equipment, staff training and research. All of which helps improve and potentially save the lives of patients at local hospitals including, Nottingham City Hospital, Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham Children’s Hospital, Hayward House and Ropewalk House.

Cystic Fibrosis Care is committed to helping those suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, a condition which is often present from birth and can cause the individual to have severe lung and digestion problems. Although treatments are available, unfortunately Cystic Fibrosis is still a life-shortening disease. Cystic Fibrosis Care provides essential services and equipment, practical help and support to children and adults, their families and Specialist Care Centres.

Donations can be made via the two charities websites.

Both of these charities are producing some fantastic work and it is always nice to be able to support such worthwhile causes. We hope that the £2,905.50 raised for each of the charities will help to improve the lives of people suffering from Cystic Fibrosis and patients around Nottingham.
