PCS is a national field service organisation and our fleet requirements form an essential part of the service delivery chain. Requests for rapid deployment of ad-hoc vehicles along with continual support of our car and van fleet are fundamental to our business. Following our acquisition earlier in the year by venture capitalists, PCS has gone through substantial and rapid change. We generated a need to consolidate from three fleet providers into one and for a large number of short-term hire vehicles. SMC were able to step in and take over the supply and distribution of the whole fleet and managed to minimise downtime and disruption, while often having to work round complex logistical challenges on a UK wide rollout. The efforts of the SMC team, often working outside of normal hours, made a substantial contribution to PCS having reduced management time and effort to achieve this.
We recognise the value generated for us by working in true partnership with our major suppliers and SMC certainly perform exceptionally for us in all aspects of the running of our fleet of 60 vehicles. Full maintenance Contract Hire is ideal in that we can effectively budget for vehicle costs and minimise the administration required in both acquiring vehicles and keeping them on the road. We’ve used Sandicliffe Motor Contracts for many years and they continue to deliver the high level of support we need in administration and that our drivers need in the field. We know if we need help or assistance relating to any aspect of our fleet, we can dial one number and speak directly to a helpful, efficient and knowledgeable member of staff and probably get a response straight away.
In the past we’ve tried different companies, admittedly larger than SMC, but they didn’t seem to keep the staff, service was patchy and there was a lack of consistency in structures or policies. Perhaps we were perceived to be a small fish in a very large pond, whereas with SMC they deliver a very attentive and reliable service and, we’re treated as an important customer.

When we first started dealing with Sandicliffe Motor Contracts for our courtesy car requirements in 2004 we were impressed with how they understood the marketplace and the importance to us of a high level of service and a competitive price.
Initially, we gave SMC the business from just one of our sites, but they quickly demonstrated their strengths in providing a personal, high quality service and we moved all of our fleet of 140 vehicles to them in 2005. We particularly appreciate dealing with a dedicated Sales Manager who does nothing else but support the bodyshop customers.
We have stayed with SMC since 2005, despite being approached by several other suppliers, we really value how they work with us in providing high quality vehicles to all of our customers, which complements our own “Art of Perfection” mission statement.

We have been dealing with Sandicliffe Motor Contracts since 2002 for the provision of our courtesy car fleet. From an initial small order, they are now our only supplier in recognition of the quality of service that they provide.
Prior to 2002, we used several suppliers providing cars from various manufacturers. But we found that these telephone based relationships were lacking in a real understanding of our individual requirements.

Prior to dealing with Sandicliffe Motor Contracts we had our fleet of 50 vehicles spread over several different suppliers. This did generate some operational difficulties for us working under different rules and procedures for the different suppliers and so we looked to bring everything together with one contract hire company.
At the same time, we wanted to review our fleet choice lists and devise a new policy that would formalise the fleet and bring us more control over the types of vehicles we were operating.
We found SMC to be very professional and knowledgeable in assisting us with this task and working together, have come up with a new policy that gives us far greater cost control and flexibility that we previously experienced.
The benefits to the company are now being clearly demonstrated in happier drivers and much reduced administration time and effort, leaving us with more time to get on with our core business activities whilst SMC look after the fleet.
