Professional Partners - a case study of Danwood
Danwood is the UK’s largest independent supplier of office printing equipment and document management solutions. Printers, copiers, multifunctional devices, scanners: their services and support ensure clients’ print resources work effectively on a day today basis.
In 2008, Danwood appointed Sandicliffe Motor Contracts to supply and manage its fleet of 486 cars and 46 vans.
After re-engineering the car policy, enabling choice but with firmer cost control, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts helped to reduce CO2 emissions (providing both environmental and financial benefits), before encouraging some opt-out drivers back into the car scheme allowing tighter fleet management control.
Danwood also enjoyed the benefits of Sandicliffe Motor Contracts’ in-house delivery team, who check and deliver each vehicle in person. Liking the fact that this saves a huge amount of time, hassle and headaches by avoiding vehicles being delivered incorrectly or late – something that had caused them problems previously.
And having also suffered from high recharge costs in the past, Danwood also valued Sandicliffe Motor Contracts’ policy of conducting their own inspection of fair wear and tear at the end of contracts.
“Our partnership works extremely well for us for a number of reasons,” said Peter Hopton, Group Purchasing and Logistics Director. “They save us time and money by giving us close personal attention. We enjoy very strong advice, which has resulted in numerous financial and operational benefits, and they work hard to make on-going improvements.”
“We’re delighted to be working with a company of the reputation and stature of Danwood,” added Phil Elms, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts’ National Sales Manager. “And our quality of service and cost control demonstrates the value of fleet operators working with an independent, high quality contract hire company such as ours.”
