Diesel Can Freeze In Low Temperatures - Fleets are Warned

Independent contract hire and leasing specialist, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts, is warning fleet operators that diesel can freeze in very cold conditions.

Caused by 'waxing over', the fuel filter can be damaged resulting in a breakdown and avoidable repair.

To avoid the expense and fustration of damaging the vehicle, drivers are being advised to:

- park in a garage or sheltered area
- do not leave diesel vehicles standing unused for long periods
- let the engine run for 10 minutes before driving off
